Beverages & More! (BevMo!) was founded in January 1994, and opened six stores that year. BevMo! is the leading alcoholic beverage specialty retailer in the western United States and among the largest in the country. With 153 stores, typically 10,000 square feet, BevMo! stores are located in well-trafficked retail areas in major metropolitan markets throughout California, Arizona and Washington.
Objective
Following a very successful mobile web launch for BevMo!, the company was eager to grasp the possibility of improvements to tablet conversions. BevMo! is an unusual customer in that goods sold online are often picked up in the store within 24 hours of purchase. They wanted the stores to be front and center, and to offer users a way of quickly ordering online for pick-up at a nearby store.
Solution
The BevMo! team was looking for a more aggressive redesign - something that could give them insight into how they might improve their desktop site in the future. 64labs worked extensively with the company’s design agency and internal stakeholders to craft a custom interface for tablet. The user experience was substantially different from desktop, but clarified the path to purchase for users both in-store and in-home. BevMo! continues to iterate and improve on the experience with us.
