Aritzia is a Canadian clothing retail company founded in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1984. Aritzia describes itself as "everyday luxury" brand at attainable prices and was brought firmly into the mainstream conversation in the US with celebrity associations with Meghan Markle and Ariana Grande.
Objective
Aritzia wanted to lay the groundwork for a major technical leap forward, looking to build skills and expertise for a large SFCC-focused team outside their core expertise. They were stuck like many retailers in a vicious circle. There was just too much everyday work to get started on re-architecting the site.
Solution
Full composable with Contentful as CMS and Algolia as Search partner. Aritzia hired 64labs to build out a composable site with core members of the Aritzia team that got the project running and showed the production potential of composable. Now the project seemed more feasible to the Aritzia team. So, with 64labs helping but Aritzia team leading, they expanded the scope and ambition of the composable project and built out full orchestration layers and API infrastructures as a secondary project to support future innovation as well as the website.
